Entertainment Club Etiquette for First-Timers in Philly
Fabrika runs a few different kinds of nights — drag brunch, live variety shows, and adult entertainment evenings among them — and each one has its own unwritten rules. If you’re heading to one of the adult entertainment nights for the first time, here’s what’s actually expected, so you can relax and enjoy the show instead of guessing.
These nights are 21+, no exceptions — bring a valid, government-issued ID. You won’t get through the door without one, so don’t leave it in the car or at home.
Keep Your Phone Away
Performers are working, and being on your phone — texting, taking a call, or trying to film — is distracting and disrespectful, both to them and to everyone else in the room. Photography and video are not permitted during performances at Fabrika, full stop, even in a private booking. If you need to step out for a call, take it outside rather than at your table.
Tipping Is Part of the Experience
Cover charges get you in the door, but tipping is how you actually show appreciation for the performance. These are skilled performers — the choreography, strength, and control involved in a live show take real training. If you’d like to tip, the standard etiquette is to do it discreetly, without disrupting the performance.
Respect the No-Touch Policy
Fabrika does not allow guests to touch performers, at any point, for any reason. This isn’t a suggestion — it’s a firm house rule, enforced consistently. If you’d like to tip, staff can direct you to the appropriate way to do so without physical contact.
Treat It Like the Show It Is
You’re there to be entertained, not to make yourself part of the show. Basic courtesy — keeping your voice down during performances, staying in your seat, and being mindful of the people around you — goes a long way toward making it a good night for everyone in the room, not just you.
